A very interesting variegated variety of the commonly grown Nephrolepsis exaltata fern was awarded the title of Best New Foliage Plant at the 2003 edition of the Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition (TPIE), Florida. This mutation was presented by the grower 'Exotic Foliage Nursery' and has been given the name 'Tiger Fern'. Light green and yellow stripes and splashes occur on the background mid green leaf colour.
