For 2004, PanAmerican Seed BV are introducing the strongly spreading 'Easy Wave' series of Petunia, so far with Salmon, White, Pink and Shell Pink and Cherry. Blue and Red varieties will be introduced during 2004. Impatiens auricoma 'Jungle Gold' is a new species to be introduced as an ornamental. It produces large yellow-gold flowers with an unusual orchid shape, set against dark green foliage. The variety requires production skill to ensure that the flowers are held well above the foliage. Vigorous and free-flowering, ideal for container planting, especially in mixed combinations. Large-flowered Hibiscus moscheutos 'Luna' series is heat loving and drought tolerant, yet suprisingly hardy. 'Luna' Red and 'Luna' Blush produce impressive flat flowers 15-20cm in diameter. Big Well branche plants and very floriferous in areas of high natural light intensity. Luna Blush has white flowers with a blush pink rim and a dark red eye. F1 Dianthus "Dynasty" series is said to be the world's first F1 double -flowered Dianthus series. Flowers resemble mini carnations. Plants grow to 40-50cm tall and make excellent border plants, novelty pot plants and of course are ideal as garden plants grown for cut-flowers which have a light fresg scent.
