An elegantly simple solution to bring hanging basks down from above is the 'pot lifter' devised by Weidner's Gardens, Encinitas, California. A plastic pot that just fits over the hanging baskets from underneath is attached to a long pipe or pole. To make a strong attachment, a round metal plate with four holes and a srew-on end is fastened to the outside base of the 'pot lifter'. The four bolts attach the metal ring to a round plate of wood drilled and fixed on the inside base of the 'pot lifter'. The pole is made from a length of rigid plastic pipe. The 'pot lifter' is simply pushed up over the handing basket so that the hook of the hanging basket is fred from the support and brought down to the ground.
