New varieties of Lantana
 
Two new varieties of Lantana from the Robrick Nursery, Florida, USA, have been awarded the FloraStar Gold Star. The variety ‘Anne Marie’ was first discovered in the late 1990’s as a mutation of ‘Irene’. It has a very dense compact habit and does not need plant growth regulators. It is highly floriferous variety with purple-mauve flowers. The second new variety is ‘Red Spread’ is described by growers as the best red flowering Lantana available. Thisvariety grows to a mounded form, ideal for containers and in gardens and flowers profusely.
