| The 2006 BCI Convention will take place at the Flowerworld Exhibition Centre located within the 500ha World of Flowers (WOF) site for ornamental plant and flower production at Chencun, China, 30th April – 7th May. The Convention will include a large scale display of penjing and shangsi (suideki) bonsai. Leading experts (www.bci2006.com/English/intro3.htm will particpate in a series of workshops, demonstrations and lectures. These include bonsai masters such as: Masahiko Kimura, Arishge Matsiura (Japan), William Valavanis (USA), Linsey Ebb (Australia), Solita Rosade (Latin America), I.C. Su (Taiwan), Brook Zhao and Liu Zhongming (P R China). The Chencun WOF is located in Shunde district, Foshan City in Guangdong Province not far from Guanzhou (Canton) or Hong Kong. There is a large concentration of penjing nurseries in the region (60+) and some 160 stone shops will be participating from all over China. The indoor area/sales are will cover 20.000m2 and over 100.000 visitors are expected.
