Fides Flower Festival 2006 breaks all records

Festival completely focused on emotions

During the Fides flower festival which took place from 14th to 16th June in De Lier, growers, wholesalers and other organizations within the horticultural industry had an opportunity to experience the feelings and emotions which their products produce in the consumer. Fides, a propagating and breeding company, helped their visitors in a practical way, to recognize emotional moments in a persons life. These emotions coupled together with ornamental flower and plant products and market information formed part of the presentation. The arrival of more than 900 visitors to the festival broke all previous records.

“Emotions determine the buying behaviour of those buying flowers and plants”, stated Harry Kloppenburg, Commercial Director of Fides. “We want our clients to look at the products through the eyes of their clients. The market value of our products is not determined by us or our client but at the end of the supply chain. This is why the consumer is central to this presentation. Security is another important emotion for Fides. Customers need to feel at home with us”. According to a visitor from Asia Fides has definitely achieved this; “It is Feeling Green but more importantly feeling at home at Fides” he declared when he was leaving.
