Groen-Direkt enthusiastic about Autumn Fair | |
The Autumn Fair went well for Groen-Direkt. The turnover during the three-day event was 35% higher than last year. In fact, the turnover of the Autumn Fair was even higher than that of the Spring Fair at the beginning of this year – and that already saw a thirty percent higher turnover than the previous year’s fair. This increase in turnover is the result of new customers combined with a higher turnover per customer.
The sample fair organisers provide no further information on figures. After all, the most important message is the positive atmosphere that characterised the fair. People were eager to buy, but apart from that there was also good interaction between the growers and their customers.
The Product Promotion Square that was introduced last spring now really took shape with more than eighty participants. The stands surrounding the field of four thousand samples attracted buyers to the very back of the large hall. Most of the growers who participated in this promotion effort successfully exploited the opportunity of combining the sample fair with commercial transactions at their stand.
Gert Koert – co-manager of Groen-Direkt – finds it highly remarkable that the turnover of the Autumn Fair exceeded that of the Spring Fair, because throughout the sector spring trade has for several years now been increasing relative to autumn trade. “This indeed implies a tremendously positive start of the autumn season,” says Gert Koert. “Our buyers and our suppliers are both entering the autumn with positive prospects”.
This autumn Groen-Direkt will be organising another five sample fairs with a Product Promotion Square. Those fairs will all be held at the same location at Denemarkenlaan 11, on 12 and 26 September, 10 and 24 October and – the last fair of this year - the Christmas Fair on 7 November.
