The author takes a wide ranging look at all aspects of the floral industry’s USD40 billion dollar business, from breeding and production to retail. Based on background research, interviews with floral industry members and personal observations in several countries the book brings together many diverse aspects of the international floricultural industry. The author is not only intrigued by the beauty of floricultural produce but also by the intricate and involved process of bringing flowers to market, starting with breeding and propagation in a laboratory and ending up on a retailer's shelf. Written in the English language and essentially focused on the reality for people that work in retail floristy and related retail trades and for entusiastic amateurs.
