| New ‘Sunflor’ Dianthus from Kooij & Zonen | |
| The purple and white ‘Sunflor Bianca’ Dianthus (dwarf carnation) was introduced last year by P. Kooij & Zonen B.V. This variety is the 25th variety in the successful ‘Sunflor’ series. Plant grows to a height of about 15cm in pot or garden soil and are rated highly compact by the Company along with varieties ‘Kaya’ new, ‘Limoni’ and ‘Release kgr’. They are highly floriferous over a long period and flowers have a light sweet fragrance. The plant will flower for about 4 weeks indoors and will last for years in the garden as it is both fully hardy and tolerant of high temperatures. The cultivar was introduced last year. In the first season of introduction about 30,000 plants of ‘Sunflor Bianca’ plants were sold. The favourable reactions by the trade has encouraged growers to increase supply so that greater quantities will be available for 2007. Sunflor® Dianthus are available in a wide range of varieties in various colours.
