| 6 October 2008 With the grand masters of previous centuries in mind and with due pride, Schoneveld is introducing no less than three completely new Cyclamen Super Serie®s in 2008! Continuing their breeding focusing on quality and hardiness, again Schoneveld has set high standards with the aim of achieving a maximum return for all links in the chain. At the same time Schoneveld proves its added-value by developing marketing concepts and technical and cultivation experiments in which sharing knowledge is just as important as making new developments! Anyone can create something new, but it takes an artist to create something really distinctive! We know now that Leonardo da Vinci and Pablo Picasso were way ahead of their time with their distinctive and original works, as one would expect of a grand master. So we expect the new silverleaf cyclamen Super Serie®s ‘Da Vinci’ F1 to raise some eyebrows when it is grown along side its greenleaf variety Super Serie®s ‘Compact’ F1 where their flowering duration and abundant blooms will generate picturesque scenes. And the Super Serie®s ‘Picasso’ F1, the silverleaf companion to the Super Serie®s ‘Mini Winter’ F1, with its open plant structure and extra hardiness will brighten up many a garden. And we're convinced Schoneveld's new medium Cyclamen Super Serie®s ‘Allure’ F1 will live up to its name, if we listen to all the enthusiastic reactions we’ve heard from several quality growers. Its exceedingly uniform plant structure and performance under more powerful growing conditions combined with a smaller size pot, show signs of a truly unique innovation. Schoneveld continually strives to incorporate growers’ wishes into its extensive breeding program in order to achieve constructive modifications and improvements in its genetic material. We are well aware that in the current climate of increasing costs we should examine the economic and quality aspects within our breeding and cultivating even more closely. Schoneveld continues to concentrate on genetic material creating round and compact plants and strong compact flower stems with a long, lavish, and steady flowering period. All this should result in an efficient use of space, highly attractive plants and savings in handling and processing for the grower. The starting point for Schoneveld is and remains a seed; that is not the finished product but simply the raw material for a promising product in all links of the chain!ì Furthermore Schoneveld continues to develop its unique concepts. A new introduction this year is the Super Serie®s ‘Veranda Selections’, which provide retailers and growers with a platform and guarantees consumers the best quality for outdoor Cyclamen. Schoneveld is continuing the outdoor flowering trials with the Super Serie®s ‘Veranda Selections’ and in those trials the Super Serie®s ‘Mini Winter’ F1 has more than proven itself in the past four years. Then there is Schoneveld's ‘jewel’, the Micro Irresistibles. These Micro Irresistibles offer growers and retailers the unique Super Serie®s ‘Micro’ F1 in attractive little pots filled with a special gel, which considerably increases the hardiness of the plants even without care!
