Some of the grower rules by Gary Vollmer, USA, after 20 years in the business. Accept your mistakes and try to learn from them; test your successes not just your problems; assume nothing; know your water; there are no stupid questions; roots love air; substrate pH is critical; crops grow better at cooler temperatures; always share information; calcium and magnesium are macro nutrients as well; walk around the crops to check for illness and disease; take your time and patiently walk through the crops; always share information with other growers; do not cycle heavy irrigation with very dry plants; it is more cost effective to grow your best quality; simple is always best; replace variables with constants; attack problems not people; measure and monitor everything all the time; water in the morning; learn something new every day. If you dont love the job, do something else! GrowerTalks www.growertalks.com
