Transport costs | |
The National farmers Union in the UK is complaining that British hauliers pay on average around Euro 17,000 per year more tax than their European counterparts. This adds a massive cost to companies heavily dependent on road transport for distribution. In the recent budget no tax concessions were given to the use of bio-fuel produced from crops. To be competitive, bio-fuels need to have an extremely low level of duty as an environmentally corect incentive. E-mail: Rebecca.McAuley@nfu.org.uk |
