| Dianthus x barbatus ‘Diabunda™´ Purple Picotee is new from Syngenta Flowers and was the winner of the first Fleuroslecet Industry Awards. Innovative new bedding plants from breeders that are members of Fleuroselect are judged by a panel of more than 25 experts from various sectors of the floricultural industry, comprising: breeders, growers, wholesalers and auctions, retailers, plug producers and seed suppliers. The variety is early flowering (some 5-6 weeks earlier than other Dianthus barbatus varieties), it is almost day-neutral. It produces compact growth with little or no application of plant growth regulators. The variety is ideal for pots and packs and produces attractive clusters of purple flowers with broad white margin. It can be grown from the spring through to the autumn.
