Top of the pyramid
FloraHolland applies their FleurPrimeur policy for new flowers and plants; high quality novelties with sufficient supply during a certain period receive extra attention in newsletters and product presentations. The ‘Glazen Tulp’ can be considered the top of the ‘introduction pyramid’. During the FloraHolland Trade Fair in Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk a jury of trade professionals choose the best novelties in the categories cut flowers, house plants and garden plants. The most promising product concept will also be nominated. In addition, one product or concept can be nominated for each category via a wild card. On April 15, the jury, chaired by Dutch TV host Rob Verlinden, will assess the nominated products for their usability and consumer-added value. The winners will be announced on 20 May 2010 and will receive the ‘Glazen Tulp 2010’ during a festive gathering at the FloraHolland branch in Rijnsburg.
