From 1 May 2010, Marc Moerkerken (37) has been appointed as managing director operations at Fides, the breeding and propagation company in De Lier (The Netherlands), which is part of the Agribio Group. Together with president Harry Kloppenburg, Marc Moerkerken will constitute the board of directors. In doing so, he is assuming the tasks of Jan Sonneveld (61), the current production director, who will be leaving by the end of 2010.
After completing his studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, where he specialized in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Moerkerken acquired ample experience in the field of global supply chain management at Syngenta Flowers. His experience and expertise in this area will assist Fides in further developing their role as a worldwide player.
Marc Moerkerken will be responsible for production, logistics, IT and technology. “I have the ambition to pursue powerful supply chain management from this portfolio, with the objective to supply all our business relations specifically and on time with the right product.”
Transfer
In the next few months, Jan Sonneveld will transfer his tasks and responsibilities to Marc Moerkerken. Jan Sonneveld: “I am fully confident and I'm sure that the whole of Fides is as well, that good management of the flow of goods, services and information between all links in the chain will be continued. The transfer of my 20 years of experience in combination with Marc Moerkerken's expertise will contribute to Fides' further professionalization and continued development towards operational excellence.”
