Vertical growing and displays at Salon dů Vegetale 2010 | |
The Company, Larbaletier, introduced a very useful and attractive display POS system for hanging plants in pots and baskets. Three circular ‘wheels’ radiate from a central 2.6m column. The wheels do not overlap each other and are of a different diameter, the top being the greatest at 1.2m. The idea brings to mind the realization of something similar at a garden centre in England, utilizing old wagon wheels. The Larbaletier system can hold 45 pots of a 23cm diameter. An important feature is the integration of the structure with micro porous pipes that enable uniform drip irrigation of all the pots. This display system won the Company an Innovert Silver award. This won the visitors’ favourite new design. It is indicated for vertical gardens of vegetables, aromatics plants, small fruit plants such as strawberries or ornamentals. The design is flexible also suitable for indoor use. Containers of various shapes and sizes (16 and 28cm) are suspended on horizontal metal branches. The branches can be extended or shortened and pivot around the vertical axis, making access to simple for transferring pots and for watering. The shape of the main container is triangular making it ideal for placing in angles or close to a wall.
