Sakata Strengthens Trans-Atlantic Ornamentals Team | ||||||||||
Sakata has recently added new positions to its sales and marketing team in the Trans-Atlantic ornamentals market of Europe and the U.S. Peter van Noort has assumed the role of Trans-Atlantic Product Manager for cut flowers and is based in The Netherlands. Peter adds to the Sakata team his solid experience in the global cut flower business, including the key markets of Europe and Africa. He has held various positions within Hamer Bloemzaden B.V. currently Florensis. Most recently he acted as Sales Representative, Grower Advisor and Product Manager for key Cut Flower crops such as Lisianthus and Celosia at Dutch based company Combinations. Peter will work across the European, North and South American market to support Sakata’s leading cut flower assortment.
Bob Leek joined the Sakata ornamentals team as the European Pot Plant Product Manager. Bob brings a rich background in horticulture management with recognized Europe based companies. His experience includes breeding, seed production, QA processes and inventory control at Royal Sluis. After the divestment of Royal Sluis, Bob worked at NAKG, PieterPikzonen and J. Gardenier before moving to Syngenta where he was active as Trial Officer, European Product Manager and Global Business Manager responsible for the portfolio and management of biennial seed crops. Bob works from the Dutch Sakata office in Hoofddorp.
John Hewett has been appointed as the Retail Category Manager (Ornamentals) for the US market. John brings 20 years of retail sales management experience in the U.S. and Canada, with emphasis in consumer and professional products. He has held national account responsibility for Walmart, Kmart, The Home Depot, Lowes, Sherwin Williams, and various hardware co-ops. Most recently, John was the principal of his own consultancy company, guiding entrepreneurial manufacturers catering to retail and/or trade channels. He will further enhance Sakata's position with large retailers and the growers serving them.
