The Company Biolchim, Bologna, has demonstrated the effectiveness of applying Urea Solphate to regulate the pH of the soil and to lower the salinity of the soil water. The first positive indications came from trials with strawberries in an area where the soil water was sufficiently saline to impede the growth and development of young plants. Only 48 hours after the application in fertirrigation of Urea Solfato at 2kg/1.000mq at a maximum concentration of 2%, the plants already showed signs of recovery and growth. The best method consists of repeated applications at low dose rates during the cultivation cycle to acidify and improve the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil around the root zone.
