Spectacular ‘Horti Fair House of Plants’

EXTRA FOCUS ON PLANTS AT INTERNATIONAL HORTI FAIR 2002

During the forthcoming edition of the International Horti Fair extra attention will be focused on house and garden plants in the flower and plant section of the trade fair. The new pavilion, known as the Horti Fair House of Plants, will be truly spectacular. There will also be an avenue of house and garden plants introduced this year and an avenue of visually attractive container plants. More plant entries are also expected in the Quality Competition. Extra workshops on the positive influence of plants on people’s well-being - 'Plants for People' – will complete the plant programme at the International Flower Trade Show. Together with NTV, the show forms part of the International Horti Fair and will be held in Amsterdam RAI from 6 to 9 November.

By arranging these extra activities in the plant sector, the organisers of the fair are responding to the structural growth in the production and sale of house and garden plants. ‘Naturally, these measures will not be at the expense of the cut flowers, floriculture technology, trade and services sectors of the fair,’ says Jack Carlier, chairman of the International Flower Trade Show. ‘On the contrary, we are expecting this to attract even more people from the trade to the Horti Fair as a whole, for example from related sectors too.’
