The Netherlands: Florimex is bankrupt

Florimex, the Dutch holding of exporters Florimex bv, Disva, Starkenburg, Baardse and Sierafor, has asked for bankruptcy. After Ciccolella Holding in February, this is a second major bankruptcy in the Dutch flower export this year.

The Florimex exporters cannot buy flowers and plants anymore from its main source FloraHolland. This is decided by the auction after ABN Amro bank announced that it can no longer guarantee the payments of Florimex, which has applied for suspension of payments.
FloraHolland has informed its growers via a debtor alert that it has been forced to revoke Florimex's authorisation. From this moment, delivery forms for this buyer can no longer be settled. The growers who have supplied product to Florimex and turned in their delivery form to the auction on time will definitely receive their money. This is the FloraHolland payment guarantee. All involved members, growers and employees have been informed of the situation. In the meantime, FloraHolland staff have been engaged to help our members cope with it.
Florimex suffered a number of misfortunes in the past months. Two weeks ago the company lost an important client, which went to the DFG. The company has a conflict with 25 workers, which they have laid off and in the end of last year part of the roof of Sierafor collapsed
