Jos Frijns en Zn bv of Margraten has submitted a special apple tree for novelty testing. The plant was harvested by Frank P Matthews Ltd. of Tenburry Wells, UK, named in 2007 and was launched onto the market by Frank P. Matthews in 2011. The unique thing about Malus domestica 'Rosette' is the red colouring in the flesh. This sweet summer apple is perfect for the private market. The tree only requires minimal pruning, has a good shape and is resistant to fungal infections. Malus domestica 'Rosette' has a rich and therefore a good harvest. The harvest time is spread across 10 days and the fruits can be kept in the fridge for three to four weeks. The size of the fruit is ideal for children (65-70 mm). The red flesh also makes this apple very suitable as a garnish when cooking.
