Terra Nova Nurseries has announced the latest phase of its breeding program for heucherella cultivars — six new rust-resistant varieties.
Terra Nova Nurseries has announced the latest phase of its breeding program for heucherella cultivars — six new rust-resistant varieties.
The cultivars include Heucherella ‘Gold Cascade’ and Heucherella ‘Copper Cascade’, both of which are part of the company’s new Cascade series. Also new, Heucherella ‘Twilight’ is a stand-alone variety bred for its vigorous habit and low-maintenance characteristics.
A new addition to Terra Nova Nurseries’ existing Falls series is Heucherella ‘Glacier Falls’, rounding out the collection to a total of four varieties. Heucherella ‘Fire Frost’ and Heucherella ‘Honey Rose’ are two new varieties that are part of the company’s current licensing agreement with Blooms of Bressingham.
Heucherella are a cross of heuchera and tiarella, in which the female parent is a heuchera and the male parent is a tiarella.
