Floranova, the UK plant breeding Company has established a strategic alliance with US Company Oglevee of Lompoc, California. The activities of the two companies are complementary: Floranova for seed raised varieties covering the European and Asian markets and Oglevee for cutting raised varieties. A new demonstration area at Oglevee's Lompoc site will be used for joint pack trails in the spring of 2003. Floranova now seeks experienced technical-commercial staff and assistants for their operations in North America. The two companies will also develop common programs of plant selection. This will reinforce the presence of Floranova in the North American market and will enable the Company to expand their breeding work to include cutting raised varieties which are taking an increasing share of the market for bedding and patio plants.
