Innovation always plays an important role at GrootGroenPlus. Every year, we look at innovative ways to further expand the trade fair and to get more attention and attract more novelties.

KVBC and GGP
Partly thanks to the cooperation with the Royal Dutch Horticultural Society (KVBC), every year, new products can be seen at GrootGroenPlus. Every year, right before the trade fair, the Inspection Committee (IC) conducts a full inspection. The offered plants are not only very innovative, but can also be grown successfully. As of 2014, the inspection will be recorded in a score sheet, which will be published afterwards. This renewed method will be introduced at GrootGroenPlus. The winners of the inspection will not only be presented at GrootGroenPlus, but also at two other trade fairs which are important to the tree nursery industry, namely Florall in Gent (BE) and Expo TCO in Opheusden (NL). More activities will be organised with these partner trade fairs. These activities will be announced later on. Just like in 2013, three prizewinning novelties from previous years will be presented again in 2014. Visitors will also get more information on the developments surrounding these novelties after their win.

Long-term inspection
The long-term inspection, combined with a field inspection and a regular inspection, is a unique feature that will be introduced in 2014. Novelties that require a long time to develop, such as avenue trees, will get extra presentation and evaluation time because of this long-term inspection. Growers and improvers are able to show their novelty at GrootGroenPlus and can gain public interest, without putting the novelty through inspection immediately. With this, GrootGroenPlus introduces not only a whole new method, but it also shows that plants and sustainability play a central role at the trade fair. GrootGroenPlus takes care of good guidance and the plant material and/or name of the novelties will not be shown. You can find a digital registration form with all terms and conditions on www.grootgroenplus.nl The trade fair is also looking into possibilities to introduce new sales concepts and presentations for the Innovation & Inspiration square.

Expansion press tour
This year, there will also be a major external press tour. During this informative tour, a bus filled with members of the press will be taken to companies of four participants from the region. This year, the organisation intends to add a fully developed practical landscaping example.  The garden centre industry will also receive some extra attention. The internal press tour will be held on Wednesday, which will allow for the press to also meet with five participants outside of the region.

All in all, GrootGroenPlus will receive more attention throughout the year, which is fully in line with the theme of #365green. This theme is also the subject of the Around-the-green-table session of 8 May 2014. The statements for this session have been created and the initiators have been invited. Please keep an eye on the website, since this will give you the opportunity to meet, learn, and inspire!

Many participants
Registrations are coming in quickly this year. Many participants from previous editions have registered, but there are also many new participants. It is still possible to register for participation during 1 - 3 October in Zundert, but it is best to do this soon. Registration is possible via www.grootgroenplus.nl.
