This new packaging is aimed at transporting and presenting Gerbera flowers on water using a modified Procona® system. A plastic platform (10cm tall) containing two oval shaped holes fits onto the lower Procona® Florida (1) container (24x30cm) and 25 or 35cm in height. Two transparent nylon sleeves that will contain the water are connected to the platform and trail down into the lower container. These are available in two different lengths according to the height of the container. There are 3 different types of cardboard partitions to hold the flowers, chosen according to stem height and the number of flowers to include. The partition type 4c provides 4 fluted partitions each of which hold 10 flowers. Each of the four can be extracted individually from the Procona® container at the retailer and placed on fresh water. This provides an immediate and attractive sales presentation. An outer carton is placed over the flowers, fitting onto the top of the Florida container and secured. The plastic top piece is also designed to fit the next container can be stacked. The system is designed to provide adequate air for the flowers in transit and to avoid ant splashing of water onto the flowers.
