Plantarium 2003 attracts more visitors and presents a wider green range

Registrations for Plantarium 2003 are coming in rapidly, very much corresponding with the results of the poll held among participants at the end of Plantarium 2002. Of those polled 82% said they were prepared to take part in 2003 as well. The most important reasons given were: promotion of new products, showing satisfactory sales results and maintaining contacts. The fair manager, Jos van Lint, expects an increase in the number of participants. It not only promises to be a bigger, but also a really ‘green’ fair. Participants from many countries cover a broad range of producers and traders. They are not only oriented towards the retail market, but also focus on other sectors such as professional gardeners, landscapers, open space planners and public parks and gardens. Another interesting aspects is that they zero in on specific gardening trends. Besides, Plantarium is aware of an increasing interest on the part of supply companies.

Interest from abroad

Participants from abroad already registered include Belgium, Germany, England, France, Italy and Spain. Companies from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria and the U.S.A. are expected to join as well. Plantarium attaches much importance to participation by other countries, not only by individual participants, but also by national organisations. After all, Plantarium is the stage where the industry presents itself as a European manifestation at the beginning of the new ‘season’.

A poll held among visitors at Plantarium 2002 showed that 62% attend especially to gather information, 16% to see innovations and 6% to meet and make contacts.

The theme

The theme for 2003 is ‘Supply on the basis of anticipated emotion’. Buying plants is an emotional matter, the same goes for the way a garden is laid out. The consumer’s emotion also affects the purchasing of products by the retail trade. The supplier anticipates this and no longer supplies as ordered. He will now supply on the basis of anticipated emotion. The supplier takes the initiative and offers concepts and solutions that correspond with the emotions
