Cistus x hybridus 'Gold Prize' has variegated golden yellow and lime-green foliage. It is a mutation from a plant with ordinary green leaves, found on the Wyevale Nursery in England. Like its parent it is a vigorous variety, hardy and floriferous. It produces pure white flowers and the buds are tinged with crimson. It grows happily in full sun or partial shade and shows no signs of scorching in strong sunlight. Finished (mature) plants will be available from summer 2003 from Wyevale Nursery.
