A relatively unknown plant

The new series of Angelona cultivars 'Angelface' bred by Elsner pac®Jungplanzen of Dresden, Germany, have been introduced by PW (Proven Winners) for 2003.  The new varieties are compact producing densely set flower spikes full of extremely large flowers throughout the summer. The strong flower stalks will stand up to rain and extreme heat making these plants ideal for patio containers and bedding situations. They are best positioned in a hot sunny position and combine well with training plants.  These improvements in performance are the result of years of breeding.  pac®Angelface®Blue (Anzwei (P) produces dark green leaves, has intense violet-blue flowers on panicles with dark stalks. Early flowering. pac® Angelface® Blue Bicolour (Anstern(P) produces tall panicles with large pure white flowers with a blue star in each centre. pac® Angelface® White (Anwhite(P) produces very large pure white flowers.  PW grower in Italy is Andreas Psenner.
