A gift to plant breeders

The Ornamental Plant Germplasm Centre at Ohio State University will make seed samples available, free of charge,  to anyone in the world who has a legitimate request, for use by plant breeders, researchers and gardening clubs.  The University has a collection of seed from 966 varieties of 62 genera of ornamental herbaceous plants.  The Centre, jointly funded by the University and the USDA (US Department of Agriculture) stores seed for 15 years. The Centre also tests multiplies seed and tests it for ideal germination conditions.
