A new orchid hybrid developed at the Manipur University India, has been registered with the Royal Horticulture Society in Great Britain (24-1-03). The Royal Horticulture Society is the international registration authority for orchid hybrids. The new orchid is registered under the name 'Ascocenda Kangla'. The originator is Rajkumar Dishore of life science department, Manipur University.
