Aqua-Soil&trade™ is a soil conditioner developed in South Africa. It consists of a fused blend of NPK nutrients and potassium-based co-polymers that forms a highly absorbent soil conditioner, designed to store water and nutrients which are slowly released to the plants. Depending on conditions, Aqua-Soil™ can absorb up to 300 times its volume in water. Tests have shown that the frequency of irrigtaion can be reduced by 50%, the product assists in providing a constant and uniform supply of moisture and nutrients to the plant roots. The nutrients are are looslely bound by the anionic negative molecular charge, preventing rapid leaching that can occur especially on light sandy soils. The continuous source of water, buffers the effects of evapotranspiration in hot dry climates. By attaching to soil particles the complex chain molecular structure of Acqua-Soil™ strengthens soil agregates and improves soil structure.
