Australian growers and gardeners will be the first in the world to have the opportunity to cultivate the blue/violet carnation varieties from Florigene. The varieties are ‘Moon Shadow’, ‘Moon Lite’, ‘Moon Shade’ and ‘Moon Vista’ varying in colour from mauve to blue/violet. The intensity of the colour improves as the plants age. The blue pigment delphinidin has been introduced into these varieties through gene technology by Florigene Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia.
