Experiments with 20 widely different plant species at genetic
and ecological levels, have shown that by reducing the Phosphorus availability
by 10-20 times, using a P-buffer technique, regulates growth by enhancing root
growth in relation to shoot growth and improves keeping quality of flowering
plants by delaying floral senescence. Results of trials of Compalox-P in Poinsettia
production have already been described in previous Clamer Informa News. In some
plants this buffer technique will substitute completely the use of growth regulating
chemicals while in others it will drastically reduce their requirement. The
technique is patented and the product is in its final phase of testing with
scientists, advisory services and growers in Denmark, UK, Germany, Holland,
Belgium, Norway and the USA after which time the product will be introduced
onto the market. The manufacturing Company is Albermarke-Martinswerk. Watch
