IFTF to join Horti Fair in move to Aalsmeer auction premises?

There is a good chance that the renowned International Floriculture Trade Fair will be moved to the FloraHolland auction terrain in Aalsmeer (The Netherlands), where the FloraHolland Trade Fair and the Horti Fair will simultaneously be held. That would mean the three major HortiWeek trade expos will all be held in the same location this year!

Dutch floriculture trade magazine Vakblad voor de Bloemisterij reports on an announcement to that extent by a FloraHolland concern manager during the ongoing trade fair in Naaldwijk. “The desire to get all the trade fairs in one location is 100% at FloraHolland. The chances of it actually happening, I estimate at 70%”, he reportedly stated.
He continued: “As FloraHolland we would like it very much. The trade expos in The Netherlands are scattered while the ornamental horticulture sector is strong exactly because of its cooperation. We should not want the trade fairs to be held in three different locations”.
Whether the move actually happens is largely dependent on how exactly the IFTF fair would be given shape at the Aalsmeer location. Minor issues such as the necessary permits and parking places would also have to be worked out.
The FloraHolland Trade Fair would most likely be combined with the green sections of the Horti Fair and take place in the auction building in that case. The technology part of the Horti Fair would be combined with the IFTF instead, and be situated in the outdoor areas at Aalsmeer East.
Some of the technology companies currently exhibiting at Horti Fair are reportedly considering a separate tech trade fair at the RAI exhibition center in Amsterdam, however.
