Selecta Klemm is organizing another Magic Stars event series. After last year’s successful premiere of hosting an event in five different countries Selecta will be present in six European countries in 2014. Magic Stars is the event for producers and retailers to get an overview of the Selecta assortment and learn all there is to know about Poinsettia.

The event series starts with the German event “Sternenzauber” at the premises of Christoph Schönges in Korschenbroich on November 4 and 5.

Like in previous years an extensive assortment show with many highlights, bestselling varieties and novelties in the categories "Christmas Feelings® Family“, "Competence in Red“, "Competence in White”, "Shapes and Colours“ and "Selecta Minis“ will be displayed.

In addition to the Poinsettia variety show Selecta invited Mr. Rainer Wilke of the plant protection service department of the Chamber of Agriculture North Rhine-Westphalia to present latest findings on plant protection. On both days two presentations about “plant protection without neonicotinoids” and “optimal effectiveness of plant protective products” will complement the programme.

On November 11 Selecta Holland is hosting a Poinsettia producer tour. Different Dutch growers with large Poinsettia productions for finished plants in pot sizes 10.5 and 13 cm will be visited.

The Danish version of Magic Stars will be held at the premises of FloriPartner in Odense on November 11 and 12, 2014. At the exhibition greenhouse of Floripartner growers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia will be welcomed at this event that addresses the specific conditions for Scandinavian growers.

Grup Roig in Spain is another location of the Magic Stars event series. Grup Roig is a family business that operates in the agriculture sector for many generations. Currently the company sells more than 25 million plant cuttings and is leading in production and sale of nursery plants in the Spanish market. At the premises of Grup Roig in Premià de Dalt, Barcelona all varieties of the Selecta assortment will be presented in full description to satisfy producers from all over Spain.

Latina, Italy is the location for the Magic Stars event of Selecta Italia which takes place on November 21. The programme includes several presentations about the assortment, Selecta’s production site in Uganda and technical information.

Premiering in 2014 is a Croatian version of Magic Stars. At December 4 a compacted exhibition of Selecta Poinsettia will be presented in Ludbreg.

All Magic Stars events will highlight the Selecta Poinsettia assortment.

The Christmas Feelings® Family, the line with the wide range of colours, is world leading. Ten varieties cover all standard colours and special colours possible with Poinsettia. Christmas Feelings® is the bestselling red variety in Europe.

Also in the white colour range Christmas Feelings® series is leading. The variety Christmas Feelings® Pearl won last year’s award as best new introduction assigned by the Dutch Organization for Agriculture and Horticulture (LTO) together with FloraHolland. Within

New in the red colour range is the variety Christmas Magic, a medium growing variety with beautiful, red bracts and strong, stable shoots, which is well-suited for productions in South Europe.

Happy Day has proven itself as a premium product. In the second year after introduction the variety is among the top 5 bestselling varieties in the assortment. Happy Day convinces with the same characteristics as Christmas Day: energy efficiency, beautiful big bracts, semi-vigorous and v-shaped growth habit, thick stems and an outstanding branching. Happy Day, however, shows its colour earlier and is therefore well-suited for early sales.

Modern beauties are the varieties of the Christmas Beauty Family. With five varieties the line offers an exceptional colour range. All varieties stand for an energy and space efficient production. Christmas Beauty varieties have very uniform bracts on the same level. This makes the plants easy to pack.

Christmas Glory, the compact red variety for early potting dates, now becomes a family. Christmas Glory Pink and Christmas Glory White are two very promising varieties. All Christmas Glory varieties convince with low energy and PGR needs.

Christmas Cookie Pink is the new special colour highlight in addition to last year’s novelty Christmas Cookie Cinnamon. The variety offers the best pink colour in the market and a very good branching. Christmas Cookie Pink is suited for all product types and good to combine with other varieties of the Selecta assortment like Christmas Cookie Cinnamon, Happy Day, Christmas Day and Merry White `14.
