Carludovica 'Jungle Drums' is the name given to a species of palm introduced from Mexico by young plant supplier Beekenkamp Ornamentals BV for 2003. It is a slow growing palm that forms a compact rosette of dark green leaves. It is very hardy and long lasting, suitable for production in 14- 19cm pots. Young plants are grown in Mexico from tissue culture. Trials conducted with a few growers in Holland in 2002 were positive and production will first start with growers in Holland and Belgium, then further afield. It requires a temperature of 21-23°C for active growth. Beekenkamp hold exclusive worldwide distribution rights. E-mail: ornamentals@beekenkamp.nl www.ornamentals.nl |
